Edmontosaurus annectens
Edmontosaurus annectens
Edmontosaurus was a large, herbivorous dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, around 73-66 million years ago. Part of the hadrosaurid family, or duck-billed dinosaurs, it could grow up to 40 feet (12 meters) long and weigh up to 4 tons. Edmontosaurus had a flat, broad beak ideal for cropping vegetation and complex dental structures for grinding plants. Fossils have been predominantly found in North America, particularly in Alberta, Canada, and Montana, USA. Known for its well-preserved skin impressions, Edmontosaurus provides significant insight into dinosaur skin texture and structure.
